New Green infrastructure Report
‘Natural England Today’, stated that local authorities and developers are being given more certainty over the robustness of infrastructure tools. There are array of global tools and methods covered at in the report, evaluating the value of green infrastructure tools in terms of eco systems and benefits provided. Consultants Eftec and Cascade carried out the report focussing on estimating financial value for green projects such as natural vegetation and walls and roofs. This report looks at the scientific and economic analysis tools and their applicability in the UK. This report will be practically useful for local authorities and local enterprises.
The Natural England principal economist, Tim Sunderland, has revealed that a number of projects that have resulted in helpful tools for assessing the value of GI in terms of the ecosystem services, have aimed to quantify the economic, social or environmental value of Green Infrastructure.
