Design Quality describes all the work we do with professionals in the public and private sector to provide expert advice and promote good place-making. As an independent charity MADE works in the public interest providing advice to all parties regarding developments or strategic documents. When they chose to work with MADE, organisations are engaging a ‘critical friend’ and showing the world that they have taken the best possible independent advice.
Our design review service has been operating for eight years and reviewed nearly 300 schemes around the West Midlands, providing advice which improves design quality, makes better places for people, makes development more profitable and speeds up the planning process.
We provide training both at ticketed events and in-house for local authorities, housing associations, developers and private practices. Our training has a practical focus and aims to help people do their jobs better and achieve high-quality design outcomes.
MADE’s advice and facilitation services are valued throughout the region and beyond. We carry out reviews, facilitate stakeholder engagement and develop briefs and strategies for local authorities and developers.
We provide training, reviews and assessments around Building for Life12, the national quality for new housing developments.
